We’re heating up the grill All you have to do is chill

 

Love grilled food but does not have that much time? Worry no more, now you can grill your favorite meat and vegetables in the comfort of your own home with Dowell Grill Express.

Last October 12, 2012 Dowell’s Chill and Grill event was created to launch the newest addition to the Prima Series the Dowell Grill Express. Together with Mama Sita’s BBQ marinade sauce and cooking recipes and techniques shared by Chef Sharwin Tee indoor grilling was made easier, faster, more fun and convenient with less odor and smoke.

The new Dowell Grill Express makes meal times sizzle with excitement with the stainless steel, non-stick Grill Express. Emitting less smoke and odor, this wide and flat rib type grill makes you the queen of every barbeque events.

 Participants were given the opportunity to grill the 3 recipes shared by Lifestyle Network’s Curiosity Got the Chef’s: Chef Sharwin Tee using the Dowell Grill Express. It was an amazing experience for all the participants especially for the food bloggers to indulge in SM Prestige Lounge of SM Fairview, SM City Lipa, SM MegaMall Prestige, SM North Edsa and SM Sucat and have the chance to try grilling using the Dowel Grill Express.  

 

The first recipe: Grilled Watermelon Salad

  

Ingredients:

1/2 large seedless watermelons
2 cups arugula
1 head lollo rossa/rosso lettuce
100 g chevre cheese
2 tbsps balsamic vinegar
4 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
salt, pepper to taste

 

Procedure:
1.Slice away the skin of the watermelon and slice into six equal slices, about 1 inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.

 2. Oil the pan, grill the watermelon slices for about 1 minute on each side.

 3.In a bowl, combine balsamic vinegar and olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss in arugula and lettuce.

 4.Slice the watermelon pieces into cubes and toss with the greens.

 Serve salad with crumbled chevre cheese sprinkled on top.

 

Second Recipe: Grilled BBQ Pork Sandwich

 

  

 

Ingredients:

Third Recipe: Grilled Bacon Rice Cakes

 

 

Ingredients:

2 cups leftover rice
8 bacon strips
1/4 cup parsley chopped

4 tablespoons hoisin sauce

Salt, cayenne pepper, and pepper to taste

 

Procedure:

1. Grill bacon until cooked, about 1 1/2 minutes on each side. Slice bacon into small chunks

  2. Add the bacon to the rice; add in half the parsley and season with salt and pepper.

  3. Form the rice into small patties the size of hockey pucks.

  4. Grill the rice cakes for 1 1/2 minutes on each side, basting with some of the hoisin sauce.
